Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Doculet (the "Service"), operated by Eram Labs ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to the Doculet mobile application, web application, and all related services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Doculet. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. The Service

Doculet provides an AI-powered personal document management platform that allows you to:

  • Upload, store, and organize personal documents
  • Automatically categorize and extract metadata from documents using AI
  • Search across your documents by title, content, names, and metadata
  • Set reminders for document expiry dates
  • Share documents with other users or via secure links
  • Export your data in various formats
  • Chat with AI about your documents

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all documents and content you upload to Doculet. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

5.2 License to Us

By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes AI processing for categorization, metadata extraction, OCR, and search indexing.

5.3 Prohibited Content

You must not upload content that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Is used for money laundering, fraud, or other criminal activity

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Circumvent any rate limits, storage limits, or security measures
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to store or distribute content that is not personal documents

7. Subscription & Payments

7.1 Free Tier

Doculet offers a free tier with limited storage, document count, and AI features. Free tier limits may change at our discretion with reasonable notice.

7.2 Paid Subscriptions

  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as chosen at the time of purchase
  • Payments are processed securely through Razorpay
  • Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date

7.3 Refunds

Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsatisfied with the Service, contact us within 7 days of payment for a refund. Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days.

8. AI Services Disclaimer

  • AI-powered features (categorization, metadata extraction, summaries) are provided "as is" and may not always be accurate
  • You should verify AI-extracted information before relying on it for important decisions
  • AI processing depends on third-party providers and may be subject to their availability and limitations
  • We continuously improve AI accuracy but do not guarantee 100% correctness

9. Document Sharing

  • When you share a document, the recipient gains access according to the permissions you set
  • Public share links can be accessed by anyone with the link
  • You are responsible for managing who has access to your shared documents
  • We are not responsible for what recipients do with shared documents
  • You can revoke access or delete share links at any time

10. Service Availability

  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
  • The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control
  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned maintenance
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice

11. Intellectual Property

The Doculet name, logo, design, and all related intellectual property belong to Eram Labs. You may not use our branding without prior written permission. The Service software, code, and documentation are proprietary and protected by copyright and other laws.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • We are not liable for any loss of data, documents, or information beyond reasonable recovery efforts
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content or metadata

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eram Labs, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We will retain your data for 30 days after account deletion, after which it will be permanently removed
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Patna, Bihar, India.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
